Port Lympne Reserve
Lympne Zoo/Port Lympne Reserve/Port Lympne Wild Animal Park
Lympne Zoo is located new Hythe in Kent and is set in 600 acres of Kent countryside. It incorporates the historic mansion and landscaped gardens designed by architect Sir Herbert Baker for Sir Philip Sassoon during the first World War.
I had the pleasure and privilege to be invited along by a friend of mine, who was going to be a keeper for the day. (They do allow people to do so at a cost, and it's all properly supervised and safely carried out).
The park is large, with many enclosures. As part of the day (inclusive in the price) you may go on one of the excursions around the park. These are properly enclosed vehicles, pulled by large lorries, and which allow visitors amazing access to the animals. It is well worth a visit.
